
There are 6 types of members in any organization. Lets make RoversPhil the sample organization, so our RoversPhil Leaders may easily understand and see for ourselves what type a Follower is a person in our rank.
We classify 6 types of members in terms of Followership- ( lets start from the highest )
Level 6- COMMITTED, this type of follower has exemplary commitment for the organization, has high respect and loyalty to the leadership.
He/She must be recognized for the exemplary demonstration of commitment with the organization.
Level 5- PERFORMER, this type of follower has high respect and loyalty with the leadership. Performs well for both himself and the organization. Have sense of meaning of what he/she do for the organization.
He/She must be recognized for his/her achievements in his contributions to the organization.
Level 4- COOPERATIVE, this type of follower has a sense of loyalty and respect to leadership.
He/She can be encourage to do more with some motivations.Should be recognized for her efforts.
Level 3- MEDIOCRE, this type of follower do little and demonstrate willing compliance in the face of the leader but become inactive when the leader is out. Have some degree of respect to leadership.
He/She can be encouraged to co-operate with some prodding and motivation.
Level 2- MALICIOUS, this type of followers do nothing but still stays, he demonstrate negative attitudes and give dicreet, bias and baseless accusations to leadership.
His/Her loyalty is to some other people than the your leadership. Still be good to him/her. Try to win his/her loyalty by encouraging him/her to help.
Level 1- REBEL, this type of followers wanted to stay in the organization, promote his discontentment to the other members and want destroy the leadership as well as sabotage the goals of the organization.
He may be encouraged to leave or when clear violations are done- discharge him/her from the organization.
If I shall evaluate the followership of RoversPhil and their relationship with the leadership, I can find these 6 types of followers in our network. If you can see yourself in any of the six levels of followership, this is the time that you consider stepping up the ladder of Followership. If you can not follow with respect and loyalty, you can not be a good follower neither become a leader.
And if you will REBEL, try resigning, its the only way to be happy. The "only good thing" that one can do is to get out of the organization. Easing one's self out will ease out the organization.
